Sisters!

When mommy and daddy aren't looking Ella and Abbigail can actually be pretty good friends. Typically they find a way to get themselves in to trouble. Ie: playing with moms make-up, painting their nails on my quilt, pulling every toy off the shelf. But there are those rare moments when peaceful play between these two can prove to be successful.

For instance... they rigged up their own travel system. Abby happily jumped in the laundry basked while Ella attached the dog's leash to take her on a journey through the home.
Their travels were much easier on the hard-wood floors, and they loudly demanded help once they hit carpet.

At points Abby proved daring and braved the ride standing up. Lets just hope they don't decide to take their travels down the stairs.

Another GIRL!!!!

We found out this week we are having our third girl. We make beautiful girls so I am excited about this... and I have had so much fun with Ella and Abbigail that I can't wait to see how different this little spirit will be, and what she will bring to our home.

Will she be determined and feisty like Ella? Forgiving and adventurous like Abby? Who's to say? All I know is... she will be loved.
In this sonogram image you can see her sucking her left thumb. We've never had a thumb-sucker. (Hope she grows out of it!)

In this picture you get a good view of her profile.

We feel so blessed to be bringing one of the Lord's children in to our world and humbled He would trust us. So bring on the pink, the make-up, the baby dolls, the dress-up clothes and even the girly drama. I have two sisters (and one amazing brother) and I'm grateful this baby girl will get to experience the fun and good times found in the friendship only sisters can share. (And the bitter fights!)

So Proud...

Abbigail is growing up sooooo fast! It is hard to believe she will be two next month. Today she saw dad's camera and asked me to take pictures of her. A little narcissistic? Maybe, but she is adorable.
This is Abby telling me what sound a cow makes.

She gets very excited to point out that she has not one, but two eyes.

She also likes to tell people her age. She loudly proclaims, "I'm two!" and then tries to show us just "how many" on her fingers. We're still working on that.

You'll be happy to know Abbigail has a belly button and knows right where to find it, and if she gets the chance she will help you find yours.

In this picture I asked her to look adorable. That is not too difficult for any blond-hair, blue-eyed angel... but I think she looks particularly cute in this photo.
We are so blessed with this little girl in our home, and can't wait to see what she brings us in the future.

Poor Jared

Before...

After...
Okay, poor Jared. The before picture is basically what he has been seeing a lot of these days. I looked in the mirror this morning... really looked, and was a bit embarassed, even with nobody around.
When I worked full time I had reason to door my hair, get some makeup on... and put on some nice clothes. And I always thought as a stay-at-home mom I would have all the time in the world to get those things done. Wow, was I ever mistaken.
Being home all day is a blessing. The girls love it... and most days I do as well. But I ain't gonna lie... there are days when I wish I had something do to outside of the house. Today, as I looked in the mirror, was one of those days. That before picture is hideous. And granted, the after isn't model quality but it is definitely a step up.
So Jared, I don't promise to wear tight jeans and fitted blouses. (Remember, I am pregnant.) And I can't promise I'll be cooking dinner in heels. I'll likely have on some yoga pants and a comfy sweater. But in an effort to save this marriage, and before you get an actual glimpse of the "before" Kat... I vow to use a flat iron more often, and at least reach for some lip gloss.
